Four Paws Pet Resort Building

Here at Four Paws Pet Resort we strive to keep every pet happy and healthy. We like to have plenty of interaction with each and every pet!

Four Paws Pet Resort is a 7,000 square foot, air conditioned and heated facility specifically designed for your pet’s comfort. We have 60 indoor suites for dogs. We have 28 outdoor shaded exercise areas for your dog’s entertainment. Four playtime sessions are included in our rates.

• All four sizes of our indoor suites are open and spacious.
• We can accommodate any breed and any size of dog.
• We take every dog outside 3-4 times a day (and every dog stays separate through their entire stay). The amount of outside play time is determined by the weather in the extreme hot and cold seasons!
• All of our outside runs are individually fenced and concreted so they can be easily cleaned.
• We feed your pets according to your instructions and administer medications at a small additional cost to you.
• We provide bowls, bedding, toys and food- but feel free to keep your pet on their own food!
• We are members of ABKA (American Boarding Kennels Association)

We welcome your visit or phone call. Drop by for a kennel tour Monday through Friday After 10:00 A.M.

Vaccinations are required. Veterinary proof is required of current vaccines or services will not be provided. All pets will be checked for fleas and ticks at the time of check-in. If needed, pets will be treated at owners’ expense.

All dogs must have current rabies, distemper, parvo (annual), and bordetella (semi-annual) vaccinations.

All cats must have current rabies, distemper, and feline leukemia vaccinations.

         Understanding the Kennel Environment

You should understand the possible side effects of stress on a dog and not be shocked if, while
your dog is boarding, he develops* tracheobronchitis* or, occasionally, intestinal problems.
You should be aware that some dogs carry viruses in their systems for months and begin to
show symptoms only after being subjected to a stress situation.  In other words, they can
               "catch" a disease from themselves.
Sometimes temporary behavior changes can occur as a result of unfamiliar surroundings.
Dear sweet Rover tears up the bed he has slept in for years.  Or "Killer" that rowdy scourge of
the neighborhood, turns into a little lamb.  Eating habits change under stress, and a dog assim-
ilates his food differently.  Some will eat like canaries at home and like vultures at a kennel.
They may put on a few pounds.  Others can lose weight though eating well or lose weight by
not eating enough.  Kennel life can be very exciting, and some dogs lose weight because they
run the weight off as they run around barking at other dogs and having a wonderful time.  These
dogs often go home exhausted but happy and sleep a lot the first couple of days at home.
All of the preparation by the pet owner merely points out that he should recognize that successful
boarding depends not only upon the kennel, but also upon how well the owner prepares his dog
               for the experience.

                **Tracheobronchitis**

Also known as canine cough, is a highly contagious, upper-resiratory disease which is spread
by an airborne virus.  Since these viruses can be present anywhere, and can travel for consider-
able distances through the air, they can affect any dog...even one which never leaves its own
back yard.  But tracheobronchitis is more likely to occur when the concentration of dogs is greater
such as at a dog show, kennel, and veterinarian offices as well as pet shops. Dogs can also be
exposed while running loose or while being walked near other dogs, or playing in the park.
Vaccines are used to help prevent this viral disease.  Unfortunately, no amount of sanitation or
personalized care can prevent a dog from "catching" an airborne virus. We do require all of our
dogs to be vaccinated every 6 months for tracheobronchitis. We refuse to board any sick  dogs,
listen and watch for any signs of sickness, and make sure that any dog requiring veterinary
attention receives it as quickly as possible.
